Laura Blair

President & Treasurer

Dance Team Director - East Texas

Laura Viergever Blair grew up in Whitehouse, Texas, where her parents taught her the importance of faith and led her to the Lord while attending Pollard United Methodist Church.  At an early age, she realized her love for dance. Dance-N-Drill studio in Tyler taught her the importance of using talents to glorify God. This carried over as one of the most important life lessons to shape her hobbies and career.

She served as an officer of the Whitehouse First Ladies Drill Team from 2006-2008.  From 2008-2010, she lived the dream of being a World Famous Kilgore College Rangerette. She later graduated from Texas State University in 2012 with her Bachelor Degree in Exercise Sports Science with an emphasis on Pre-Physical Therapy.

While at Texas State, she was blessed to be the assistant director for a local dance studio competition team and teach classes as well. Texas State is also where she met her husband Haydon Blair, especially fond of him when learning he was from East Texas.

Laura then attended Kilgore College Physical Therapist Assistant program from 2012-2014, always knowing her heart was in pediatrics. God placed more opportunities for dance in her path while back in East Texas as she taught studio classes in Kilgore and served as interim drill team director for her high school alma mater.

Haydon and Laura lived in Garland and Plano for a few years where she began her physical therapy career, realizing how God allowed her to use teaching dance to children as a way to relate teaching movement to her pediatric patients.

Eventually God led Haydon and Laura back to East Texas to be close to their families. Now that their roots are solid back home in East Texas, Laura is ready to run after this dream of creating a dance team for all-abilities!

Kathleen Dunn

Board Member

Kathleen Dunn grew up in Plano, Texas. After trying many different sports, she found a true love for dance around the age of 7. There was never a dance class she didn’t like, but performing was always her greatest joy. As her high school years approached she went from a full time studio dancer to a full time drill team member where she served as Lieutenant and then Captain. Kathleen has always seen dance as a form of worship to glorify the Lord - through dancing and leading other girls with joy and positivity.

Kathleen went on to become a Kilgore College Rangerette. Following her two years in Kilgore she continued her dance studies at Texas Tech University. There she was on the Texas Tech Pom Squad for 3 years and then graduated with a dance major, exercise sport science minor in 2013.

After college Kathleen married her now husband, Richard, moved back to Plano and worked as a dance studio teaching ages 2-18 while also living out her dream of being a stay-at-home mom.

Laura and Abby are two of Kathleen’s closest friends. The three of them together are huge encouragers of each other’s faith. When Laura and Abby approached Kathleen about their dream of starting Harmony, Kathleen was completely on board to support and pray in any way she could. Kathleen is excited to watch God work through this amazing dance ministry!

Throughout her dance career she studied ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, and hip hop and danced on a private Christian dance team. In High School, she danced on her Drill Team where she served as Colonel for 2 consecutive years.

Abby attended Texas Tech University where she majored in Dance and minored in Exercise Sport Sciences. She danced for Texas Tech University Pom Squad for 3 years and served as Captain her Junior year. Her Senior year, she danced on the Texas Tech University Dance Company where she learned under the instruction of the Dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts.

After college, Abby moved to Dallas and danced for the NFL as a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader for 2 years. While dancing for the Cowboys, Abby also taught ballet classes where she found her love and passion for teaching children.

Over her entire dance career, Abby has choreographed many routines and has taught numerous private dance lessons and studio classes. Abby has always lived by her favorite Bible verse: “Let them praise His name with dancing,” Psalm 149:3, and continues her calling through Harmony Dance Team.

In 2016 Abby and her husband, David, moved to the Rocky Mountains and fell in love with their new home in Littleton, Colorado. Abby is the mother of 3 daughters, Hattie, and Shiloh, and Neela. Hattie was diagnosed with a rare chromosome disorder which has deeply connected her to the special needs community. When she met Laura Blair, they both knew that their combined experiences and passions would be perfect to start Harmony Dance Team.
